I can’t even begin to express how much joy it brought me to capture the wedding of Matt and Carlie yesterday. Their beautiful day began at Hinkletown Mennonite Church and ended with an unforgettable celebration at the Silk Mill on Main in New Holland. And let me just say—it was the perfect Silk Mill wedding from start to finish.
Matt has been a part of my life for over a decade now. I still remember meeting him for the very first time—eleven years ago—when I joined my (soon-to-be) husband’s family for Thanksgiving. Since then, it’s been such a gift to watch him grow into the man he is today. It’s also been incredibly sweet to witness his relationship with Carlie unfold over the years. From the early days of bringing her around to family events, to watching their love deepen and mature, it’s been clear that these two were made for each other.
Having the honor of capturing their Silk Mill wedding felt deeply personal—and honestly, it was just so much fun.
Their bridal party was full of their closest friends, and I loved seeing how much community these two have built around them. It was a bridal party full of joy, laughter, and heartfelt moments. Everyone was genuinely excited to celebrate Matt and Carlie—and that kind of energy is just contagious.
We started the day with getting ready moments full of anticipation, nerves, and excitement. Then we headed to Historic Poole Forge in Narvon for portraits, and WOW—these two absolutely glowed. The weather was perfect, and the soft light added such a romantic touch to every image we captured.
The ceremony at Hinkletown Mennonite was beautiful and meaningful. There was such a sense of peace in the room, and the message shared reminded all of us what love and marriage are truly about. Carlie walked down the aisle with the biggest smile, and you could tell Matt was doing everything he could not to cry. (Spoiler alert: He definitely got misty-eyed!)
After the ceremony, we made our way to New Holland for the reception—and what a party it was! Their Family Silk Mill wedding was full of laughter, heartfelt speeches, and nonstop dancing. The Silk Mill on Main provided the perfect backdrop: a mix of industrial charm, cozy lighting, and just the right amount of elegance.
Carlie and Matt’s first dance had everyone smiling, and the rest of the evening flowed with so much energy and love. It was one of those receptions you never want to end—just pure celebration.
There’s something really special about photographing a Family Silk Mill wedding—especially when it’s for people you love. Matt and Carlie, thank you for trusting me with your day. I am beyond happy for you both and can’t wait to see where this next chapter takes you.
Congratulations, you two!
