I am so amazing by the way that God brings people into our lives. Over the course of the last few years, as I have spent a lot of my marketing time on social media, I frequently saw a Debbie Cross posting about offering photography sessions. Every once in a while, I would Facebook stalk her to check out her work, but that was about all. Late last year, I started studying under renowned wedding photographer, Katelyn James and soon learned that Debbie Cross was also a KJ Photographer (the little nickname for our community of Katelyn James trained photographers). We started chatting on Facebook and quickly learned that we had both gotten married the same summer as well as both have little girls who are very close in age. It looked like a friendship made in heaven.
On February 5, 2019, we both did this crazy thing of driving all the way to Richmond, VA for the opportunity to experience some photography related businesses as well to meet Katelyn James. That was the first time we actually met, both 4 hours away from home! Crazy right?! Well, since then we have become fast friends and thoroughly enjoyed watching our daughters build friendships as well. Yesterday, we even brought our whole families together for a day of fun in Philadelphia.
We both arrived in downtown Philadelphia early afternoon and enjoyed some Geno’s cheese steaks while our daughters ran around a local playground. One can’t spend the day in Philly and NOT have some genuine local food. It was absolutely delicious and definitely hit the spot. We then headed towards Kelly drive, and there my husband became our hero. He loaded up with our 1 and 4 year old girls and Debbie’s 1 and 3 year old girls and headed into Smith Memorial Playground for almost 2 hours while Ben, Debbie and I headed for a stunning couples session along Kelly Drive. We had an absolutely fabulous time and I completely enjoyed having Ben and Debbie behind my lens.
Enjoy a little sneak peek at our session.
