February 22, 2024

Hiring wedding vendors can be an extremely daunting task. Are you engaged and need to the start the wedding planning process and you feel overwhelmed and don’t know where to start. Well, I am here to help you know how to book all your different vendors.

When it comes to hiring wedding vendors, it’s important to prioritize and book them in a strategic order to ensure a smooth planning process. Here’s a suggested order in which you can hire your wedding vendors:

  1. Wedding Planner (optional): If you decide to hire a wedding planner, it’s best to do so at the beginning of your planning process. They can assist you with vendor recommendations, budgeting, and overall coordination.
  2. Venue: Secure your wedding venue as early as possible, as popular venues tend to book up quickly. The availability of your venue will determine your wedding date, which is important information for other vendors.
  3. Photographer/Videographer: Once you have your venue and date confirmed, start researching and reaching out to photographers and videographers. They often get booked well in advance, so it’s important to secure their services early on.
  4. Caterer: If your venue does not provide in-house catering, you’ll need to hire a caterer. Research and meet with different caterers to discuss menu options, dietary restrictions, and pricing.
  5. Florist: Book a florist who can bring your floral vision to life. Discuss your color scheme, preferred flowers, and any specific arrangements you have in mind.
  6. Entertainment: Whether you’re hiring a DJ, a live band, or any other form of entertainment, make sure to book them early. Good entertainment options tend to have limited availability, especially during peak wedding seasons.
  7. Officiant: If you’re having a religious or non-religious ceremony, secure an officiant who aligns with your beliefs and can perform the ceremony on your chosen date.
  8. Wedding Attire: Start shopping for your wedding dress or suit to allow enough time for alterations. If you’re having a bridal party, coordinate their attire as well.
  9. Hair and Makeup: Book hair and makeup artists who can create the perfect look for you and your bridal party on your wedding day.
  10. Cake/Bakery: Find a baker who can design and create your dream wedding cake. Schedule tastings to choose flavors and finalize the design.
  11. Stationery: Hire a stationery designer or printer to create your wedding invitations, save-the-dates, and any other stationery items you may need.
  12. Decor and Rentals: If your venue requires additional rentals or if you want to enhance the decor, book a rental company that can provide items such as tables, chairs, linens, lighting, and other decorative elements.
  13. Transportation: If you need transportation for the wedding party or guests, book a transportation service that can accommodate your needs.
  14. Other Vendors: Depending on your preferences and budget, you may also need to hire vendors such as a wedding coordinator, a wedding cake baker, a photo booth rental, a wedding favors supplier, or a wedding stylist.

Remember, this order is a general guideline, and you can adjust it based on your specific wedding priorities and needs. It’s crucial to book your vendors early to secure their services and ensure that you have a smooth and stress-free planning process.
